Table Talk with Mary Hafner
When did you know you wanted to start your own blog?
I was right out of college and was feeling unfulfilled at my current job. I would spend every morning reading blogs and then one day, I said, "Why can't I do this?" So with my best friend, we started So Then They Say.
What are some Instagram accounts you love to follow?
My guilty pleasures are my "throwback accounts." I love the ones that post about life in the 90's/ early 2000's. I am very nostalgic.
Who is your greatest source of inspiration?
I absolutely adore anything and everything, Beatrice Borromeo. I followed her years ago and just recently someone brought her up in conversation. I realized how much I missed following her grace and style. She does Dior, as Dior should be done.
What are some of your favorite things to do during your free time?
I spend most of the week with my kids, running them to activities, playdates, school, etc. I am someone who really needs alone/quiet time so in my freetime I love doing absolutely nothing in a relaxing environment. Second to that, I adore being with my husband and friends. Literally doing anything and everything.
Who are the people seated at your Rond Table?
Andy Cohen, Christian Dior, Brice Hafner, John Wayne, and John F. Kennedy. Can you imagine? I am laughing at the thought.
What was your 2023 resolution?
It was to practice my French everyday but that has not panned out well for me.
Do you have an heirloom in your family? If so, what is it?
My family is extremely sentimental so we have numerous heirlooms. I think my favorite is my dining table. It was my father's when he was a kid and while I was growing up, we ate every dinner there. I love having it in my home and creating special memories with my own family around it.
Which Rondel piece speaks to you the most?
The charm bracelet. I adore the idea of creating this "one piece" that is actually made up of these single moments that were so special in my life.
