Texas-based entrepreneur Cristina Lynch founded Mi Golondrina as a way to bring the beautiful traditions of Mexico to modern fashionistas through hand-embroidered attire and textiles. What you may not know is that she employs skilled artisans, particularly women, in small villages, empowering them to turn their craft into careers.
Rondel founder and designer Lindsey has loved Mi Golondrina since the day she laid eyes on its assortment of unique, feminine pieces. Both founders share many brand values with clear ties in mission, product quality, sustainability and artisan partnership.
Read on as we get to know the fabulous Cristina Lynch.
My first experience with fashion was…
Watching my mom get dressed. She has always had such an eclectic closet, and the way she puts pieces together is so beautiful. She showed me how fun fashion can be.
The people seated at my rond table are…
Anyone in my family! My mom and brother, Peter, are hilarious. We try to get dinner once a week, but we honestly see each other most days.
I launched Mi Golondrina because…
I knew I always wanted to start a business, and Mi Golondrina was a way to show the Mexico I had grown up loving and admiring. Now it is a way to support a community of women in Mexico and the US that I love dearly.
I am inspired by…
My mother, the artisans we work with and the colors of Mexico.
My favorite MG style is…
Gosh, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Lately, I have been living in our Olivia blouse in every color.
A trend I wish would die is…
I’m not too worried about trends dying just because I don’t generally follow them. I love buying vintage clothing, wearing Mi Golondrina and mixing and matching pieces.
One way I had to pivot my business during the pandemic is…
We had to really focus on eCommerce for a year. The pandemic was tough, but it was also a time to really focus on what makes Mi Golondrina great. I am so lucky to work with women who create a beautiful product and enjoy telling our story.
The first thing I do when I wake up is… and the last thing I do before bed is…
Right now, it’s nurse my son, Harrison. I love our family morning walk to coffee. A long hot shower is the best before bed – it has become my spa and time to reflect on the day.
My favorite thing about living in Texas is…
The people! Such a supportive community.
The place I’m most excited to travel to is…
I can’t wait to explore Italy with my husband and babies next year.
Something about me you may not know is…
I talk to one of my brothers literally every day. He is my best friend and biggest supporter.
My mantra is…
Sí se puede! Translates to “Yes, we can!"
A family pass-down I cherish the most is…
Long dinners with great conversation. I always loved on our family trips that my dad would always make us get dessert and coffee so that the conversation would last longer.
My story, my style in a word…
Easy going : )
The Rondel piece that speaks to me…
The Sun Burst Medallion Charm is so joyous. It brings a smile to my face.
